After the Russian Revolution caused financial hardship and the collapse of the Society for Jewish Folk Music in 1919, Rosowsky moved back to Riga and founded a Jewish Folk Conservatoire.

Solomon Rosowsky (1878-1962) was born in Riga, Latvia, into a family rich in both Jewish and classical music traditions.
Composition History
In 1908, Rosowsky co-founded the Society for Jewish Folk Music in St Petersburg with other Jewish classmates, including composers Mikhail Gnesin and Lazare Saminsky.
