Eva Bruun Hansen, the singer on this album, is a member of the Danish Radio Chamber Choir and has also performed as Donna Anna in Mozart's Don Giovanni at the Scottish Opera.

The composers on this album have all moved beyond 'the great tradition' to experiment with new forms and sounds, focusing on the Northern and the feminine aspects of music.
Historical Context
The seven pieces on this CD were all written within a short period, from 1977-1994, by three Danish composers, an Icelandic, a Norwegian, a Swedish, and a Finnish composer.
Performer Biography
Marie Warme Otterstrom, the accordion player, decided two years prior to this recording to pursue a solo career, having previously combined teaching with concertizing.
Performer Biography
Inger Guldbrandt Jensen, the cellist, was hired by the Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra at the young age of 24, while also pursuing further education with Ralph Kirshbaum in the USA.
Recording & Production
The accordion player Marie Warme Otterstrom, born in Sweden, conceived the idea for this concert and record project after the women's conference in Oslo in 1988.
