All of Pinchgut Opera's productions have been broadcast by ABC Classic FM, and all but one have been recorded for CD, initially by ABC Classics and now by their own label, Pinchgut LIVE.
Composer's Artistic Vision
Pinchgut Opera aims to introduce Australian audiences to a "treasure trove" of older operas, particularly those composed before 1750 by composers like Cavalli, Vivaldi, Monteverdi, Rameau, and Charpentier, which are rarely performed.

The libretto for "The Chimney Sweep" was written by Leopold Auenbrugger, who lived from 1722 to 1809.

Pinchgut Opera, the company performing this work, was founded over coffee by Erin Helyard, Anna McDonald, and Liz and Ken Nielsen, with the aim of putting music first in opera.
