Composition History
The idea for the 'Motorbike Concerto' came to composer Jan Sandström when Christian Lindberg imitated a motorcycle noise with his trombone, leading to the concept of a modern-day Ulysses on a motorbike.
Recording & Production
The illustrations in the booklet were created by Christian Lindberg's fifteen-year-old daughter, Andrea Lindberg, who was present during many discussions with the composer.
Performer Biography
Christian Lindberg has inspired over forty composers, including Iannis Xenakis and Arvo Pärt, to write works specifically for him.
