Tianwa Yang performs on a violin made in 1749 by Michel Angelo Bergonzi, generously loaned by Mr. and Mrs. Rin Kei Mei.
Performer Biography
Tianwa Yang, the violinist on this recording, began studying violin at age four and by age ten was accepted by renowned teacher Lin Yaoji at the Central Conservatory of Music.

Pablo Sarasate, the composer of the Spanish Dances, was a great Spanish violinist who entered the Paris Conservatoire at age twelve with a scholarship from Queen Isabella.
Composer's Artistic Vision
Sarasate refused to play Brahms's Violin Concerto, claiming its only proper melody was given to the oboe.
