Erik Satie, the composer, was described by Maurice Ravel as having an "extremely sharp mind" and being "the inspirer of many a new trend."

Compositional Technique

With his Gnossiennes, Erik Satie decided to abandon key signatures and bar lines, and to include eccentric, ironic performance indications in his scores.

This album was recorded in August/September 2015 at J Studio, Tokyo College of Music, Japan, using Neumann and Schoeps microphones.
