Oksana Lutsyshyn, one half of the Invencia Piano Duo, made her debut at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall after winning a prize at the William Kapell International Piano Competition.

Beginning in 1906, Florent Schmitt experimented with a compositional method that strictly limited melodies to the first five pitches of a diatonic scale, a technique later used by Igor Stravinsky.
