Lucchesini won first prize at the international Dino Ciani competition in 1983, which brought him international recognition at a young age.
This album was recorded in October 2019 at the Leibniz Saal (HCC, Hannover) using a Steinway D piano.
Andrea Lucchesini, the pianist on this album, began studying with Maria Tipo, a renowned Italian pianist and teacher, at the age of six.
Lucchesini has performed with leading orchestras and conductors worldwide, including Claudio Abbado, Riccardo Chailly, and Daniel Harding.
Lucchesini is also dedicated to teaching, currently at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole, where he was artistic director from 2008 to 2016.
Lucchesini had a close relationship with composer Luciano Berio, performing the world premiere of Berio's final work for solo piano, Sonata, in 2001.
