This album is part of a project to release a new Schubert album every year between 2023 and 2028, based on music and poetry written two centuries prior.

Schubert's artistic reputation grew steadily in Vienna, and by 1825, he was negotiating with four publishers, but 1824 was a very dark year for him.

Schubert moved away from strict strophic song forms towards 'through-composed' forms, allowing greater freedom in handling changing moods and enriching his melodic and harmonic vocabulary.

Schubert's music consistently reflects a blend of light and darkness, euphoria and melancholy, revealing a highly sensitive and unstable personality.
