Antje Weithaas, the violinist on this recording, began playing at age four and has won prestigious competitions including the Kreisler, Bach, and Joseph Joachim International Violin Competitions.

Both Schumann's Violin Concerto and Brahms's Double Concerto were written for the superb violinist Joseph Joachim, a trailblazing musician from Austro-Hungary.

This album is a co-production between cpo and Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR), recorded in March 2019 at the Großer Sendesaal in Landesfunkhaus Hannover.
