Gaspar Cassadó, a Spanish cellist and composer, was a pupil of the renowned cellist Pablo Casals and composers Maurice Ravel and Manuel de Falla.

Interpretation

Denis Severin, the cellist, commissioned arrangements of works originally for cello and piano/organ to be performed with a chamber orchestra, inspired by Robert Schumann's orchestral-like chamber music.
