Grażyna Bacewicz had an active concert career as a violinist for 18 years after receiving an honorable mention at the 1st International Henryk Wieniawski Violin Competition.

This album was recorded at the Concert Hall of the Krzysztof Penderecki European Centre for Music in Lusławice, Poland, from May 4-7, 2022.

Composer Biography

Mieczysław Weinberg, a composer on this album, fled German-occupied Poland during World War II to the Soviet Union, eventually settling in Moscow where he became close with Dmitri Shostakovich.

Composer Biography

Michał Spisak, a composer featured on this album, studied with Nadia Boulanger in Paris and did not return to Poland after World War II, dying in Paris in 1965.
