Franciska Széchényi-Batthyány (1783-1861), the eldest daughter of Ferenc Széchényi (founder of the Hungarian national library), is considered Hungary's first female composer.

Eleven members of the Széchényi family were composers, and this recording presents a selection of piano works from seven of them.

The recording was made in January 2018 at Hungaroton's Rottenbiller Street Studio in Budapest, Hungary, using a Steinway Model D piano.
