1/7Performer Biography
Carol Rosenberger's official debut was delayed by ten years due to an attack of paralytic polio, which she spent in seclusion and rehabilitation, including studying in Vienna.
Recording & Production
The album features a Boesendorfer Imperial concert grand piano, affectionately nicknamed 'Boesie', which Carol Rosenberger purchased after falling in love with its sound.
Instruments
Boesendorfer Imperial concert grand pianos are known for their unique depth of resonance and pure, singing tone, often described as bell-like.
Instruments
The unique construction of the Boesendorfer Imperial, with its entire inner-rim assembly and outer rim made of solid spruce, makes it resemble a string instrument more than a percussion instrument.
Instruments
Boesendorfer pianos are handmade, with only a few hundred produced annually, making them much rarer than other top instruments like Steinways.
Instruments
The Boesendorfer Imperial piano has extra strings, extending its lowest note to a C, which is a sixth below the lowest note on a conventional piano, enriching its resonance.
Performer Biography
Carol Rosenberger, the pianist on this album, is currently the Director of Delos, having taken on a larger responsibility for the label after the deaths of its founder and Director of Engineering.
