Myra Hess's well-known arrangement of Bach's 'Jesu, joy of man's desiring' originated from her improvising on the chorale after hearing a performance of the Cantata in April 1920.

Recording & Production

Myra Hess's 1942 recording of Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 21 was never released due to wartime power disruptions causing unacceptable pitch fluctuations, and the masters were destroyed.
