In 1782, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart transcribed pieces by Bach for Sunday midday concerts held at the apartments of Baron Gottfried van Swieten, Prefect of the Imperial Library of Vienna.
Compositional Technique
Bach often reused his own music; for example, the opening Sinfonia of Cantata BWV 29 was adapted from the Praeludio of his Partita for solo violin No. 3 BWV 1006.

Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, whose Trio Sonata is featured on this album, was the first harpsichordist at the court of Frederick II in Potsdam.

Bach's Cantata BWV 169, which includes the aria 'Gott soll allein mein Herze haben', delivers the message from Matthew 22:37: 'Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.'
