Compositional Technique
The electronic elements in the Sonata and Always at Dusk are derived from the acoustic instrument itself, with sampled noises like "drums" originating from the alto flute's key clicks.
Composition History
Two works on this album, the Sonata '… una rilettura indipendente' and Always at Dusk, No.3, are modules from Sinan Savaşkan's ongoing cycle "Many Stares through Semi-Nocturnal Zeiss-Blink," which began in 1978 and is projected to contain 360 pieces.
