The Messiah College Wind Ensemble's previous album, 'Stained Glass Windows,' was called 'A superb disc' and 'a magnificent statement of the highest professionalism possible from student ensembles' by Fanfare magazine.

Mark Ford's "Stubernic Fantasy" is based on two of his earlier compositions, "Stubernic" and "Afta-Stuba," which were originally written for three players on a single marimba.

This album was recorded in February and March of 2014 and 2015 in Parmer Concert Hall, located in the High Center for Worship and Performing Arts at Messiah College.

Morton Gould, composer of "Fanfare for Freedom," had his first composition published at the age of six and was known for combining multiple musical genres into classical structures.
Composition History
Morton Gould's "Fanfare for Freedom" was commissioned during World War II by Eugene Goossens, conductor of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, as part of a series celebrating the war effort.
