Edward Gregson (born 1945) is a composer of international standing who has written orchestral, chamber, instrumental, and choral music, as well as music for theatre, film, and television.

Edward Gregson's early mentor, Alan Bush (born 1900), a composer and Marxist, likely instilled in Gregson the need to write music that speaks to its audience.
