This album was recorded in April 2021 at The Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen, Denmark, with Daniel Davidsen of 3C Sound as producer and engineer.
Compositional Technique
Alexander Scriabin based his music on the tritone interval, previously banned as demoniacal, viewing it as a liberation and a 'higher level' beyond the old tonal system.
Performer Biography
Gustav Piekut, the pianist on this album, made his solo debut with the South Jutland Symphony Orchestra at age 12 and has won several international awards.
Composer's Artistic Vision
Rued Langgaard's opera Antichrist displays what he called 'The megalomania of the ego' before a fiery destruction of the world to allow a new one to arise.
Composer Biography
Alexander Scriabin died at 43 from blood poisoning while composing his Mysterium, a work intended to unite humanity and elevate it to a higher level.
