Christopher Moore was a full-time member of The Chestnut Brass Company, a professional brass quintet from Philadelphia, which won a Grammy Award in 2000.

Brent Michael Davids' 'Trumpeting the Stone' incorporates elements of Oneida life, such as brass band music and hymn singing, and uses the flugelhorn to evoke the sound of an Indian wood flute.
