Composition History
Turina's final work, Desde mi terraza, was written in 1947, just two years before his death, and shows the influence of Debussy's Estampes.
Compositional Technique
In Coins de Séville, Turina blended local Andalusian folk-music motifs with the new harmonies of French modernism, a style he encountered while studying in Paris.

Composer's Artistic Vision
Turina's piece Contemplación was inspired by three well-known works of art: Fra Angelico's The Annunciation, Velázquez's The Surrender of Breda, and the sculpture The Lady of Elche.
