Athanasios Koumenteris, the composer, holds a PhD in Composition from the Ionian University, focusing on spectral music and its references.
Compositional Technique
The piece 'Sikinos' uses sound 'tanks' created through Pitch Class sets and OpenMusic libraries, and is autobiographical, named after the street where the composer grew up, not the island.

Athanasios Koumenteris has conducted postdoctoral research on the relationship between composers and digital technology, specifically on analysis/synthesis processes of natural and digital sound.
Compositional Technique
The work 'Chronos V, VI, VII, VIII, IX' combines harmonic timbre density and systematization of musical material with the theory of sound groups (Pitch Class Set Theory).
Composition History
The 'Monologues 1, 2, 3' were commissioned by guitarist Michalis Kontaxakis to be used as course material for a Post-Diploma Study Program.
Composer Biography
Beyond his musical career, Athanasios Koumenteris is also a graduate of the Law School of the University of Athens.
