Franz Liszt, the renowned Hungarian composer and pianist, received Tyrrell's Zwölf große Studien op. 47 for piano and expressed a desire to hear them performed by the composer herself.

Despite receiving a prominent letter from Franz Liszt, Agnes Tyrrell was only able to publish a fraction of her compositions during her lifetime, dying at age 36 from a heart ailment.
