Star bass Ildar Abdrazakov releases his first solo album on Deutsche Grammophon in collaboration with the Orchestre Métropolitain de Montréal and Yannick Nézet-Séguin. Well known as a Verdi singer in the world’s leading opera houses, Abdrazakov sings music from a wide range of Verdi operas, from Nabucco to Don Carlo.

Ildar Abdrazakov became an opera singer after watching a DVD of Verdi's Attila with Samuel Ramey in the title role and Riccardo Muti conducting.
Interpretation
Ildar Abdrazakov learned much about Verdi's style from Riccardo Muti, who worked with Antonino Votto, a student of Arturo Toscanini, who knew Verdi personally.

This album was recorded in Montréal at the Paroisse Saint-Nom-de-Jésus in October 2018.
