Verdi & Donizetti: Opera Arias
The star tenor Michael Fabiano makes his debut for Pentatone with a selection of scenes by Donizetti and Verdi, two of the composers with whom he has made his name on stage. Spanning late Donizetti works and early and middle-period Verdi, the album includes excerpts from Lucia di Lammermoor and Rigoletto alongside music from lesser-known operas including Donizetti's Poliuto and Verdi's Il corsaro. Fabiano sings the original version of several arias, including the St Petersburg version of 'Qual sangue sparsi' from La forza del destino.
