The title of Vilsmaÿr's Six Partitas, Artificiosus Concentus Pro Camera, was long thought to imply a lost bass part, but the polyphonic violin writing makes them complete without one.

Johann Joseph Vilsmaÿr, a violinist at the Salzburg Court, was also chamberlain to Francisco Antonio, the Archbishop of Salzburg.
