Composer Biography
Vivaldi was ordained as a priest in 1703, the same year he was appointed violin-master at the Ospedale della Pietà, a charitable institution for girls.
Compositional Technique
Vivaldi played an important part in perfecting the Italian solo concerto, leaving nearly five hundred concertos for various instruments.

This album was recorded at Phoenix Studios in Budapest, Hungary, from July 24th to 27th, 2003.

Vivaldi died in Vienna in 1741 in relative poverty, a month after arriving there hoping to further his career under Emperor Charles VI, who had also recently died.
