Carl Maria von Weber, the composer, spent much of his childhood with a traveling theatre company directed by his father, Franz Anton Weber, who was also Mozart's wife Constanze's uncle.

This album was recorded in Brisbane from February 20th to 23rd, 1994.
Composition History
Weber's opera, Die Drei Pintos, was left incomplete and was later finished 67 years later by Gustav Mahler, a renowned composer and conductor.

Compositional Technique
The Turandot Overture uses a Chinese tune found in Rousseau's Dictionnaire de Musique, which was wrongly transcribed from an influential history of China.
