The album's concept of dedicating an entire program to prelude and fugue compositions was realized during the 2020 pandemic, when Florian Willeitner found time to immerse himself in the project.

Florian Willeitner's interest in fugues, a Baroque compositional form, became serious in 2012 when he composed 'Fuga in Odd' for his second Piano Trio.

The album was recorded at the ACT Gallery in Berlin, Germany, between April 24 and 26, 2023, and was produced by Florian Willeitner and Philipp Treiber.
