Dr. John Bell, the conductor and executive producer of this album, is in his 20th year as Professor of Music and Director of Bands at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE).

H. Owen Reed's "La Fiesta Mexicana" was inspired by a book about Mexico and incorporates folk songs and chants the composer collected while living in Cuernavaca and Chapala.
Performer Biography
The SIUE Wind Symphony, the ensemble on this recording, has premiered 14 works for wind band, toured the United States and Europe, and performed twice at Carnegie Hall.
