For this recording, Noé Inui used a Sartory bow that was given to Eugène Ysaÿe by Elisabeth, Queen of Belgium, in 1929.
Composition History
The Étude-Poème in G minor by Eugène Ysaÿe, recorded here for the first time, was premiered by Ysaÿe himself and French pianist Raoul Pugno in Copenhagen on October 17, 1900.
Instruments
The album features an 'Ysaÿe' E-string, also known as a 'chanterelle', which was reproduced based on spools found in the Corelli factories in France.
