In the 2020/21 season we welcomed Arvo Pärt as Creative Chair with the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich. Delve right into Pärt's meditative, ascetic soundscape and discover how much his Tintinnabuli-style (Latin for "little bells") differs from his dodecaphonic and collage works of the early years. As he himself puts it, "There is already a lot of noise in this world". His music purposefully counteracts this in its very own spirituality and dedication to the power of silence in music.
