Kalevi Aho, one of Finland's leading contemporary composers, began violin studies and composing at age ten.

The soprano saxophone used by Anders Paulsson on this recording is a Selmer Mark VI, No. 258036, with a Selmer C* mouthpiece and Vandoren reeds No. 5.
