After 18 years as a concert violinist, Grażyna Bacewicz abandoned performing in 1953 to focus almost exclusively on composing and teaching.

This album was recorded at the Concert Hall of the Grażyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Łódź, Poland.

Grażyna Bacewicz received a scholarship from Ignacy Jan Paderewski, a famous Polish composer and statesman, to study in Paris with Nadia Boulanger.
