Miklós Spányi, the performer, has concentrated his work on Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach's oeuvre and actively works to revive the clavichord, Bach's favorite instrument.

The clavichord's extremely long after-reverberation, produced by undamped strings, fills pauses and adds resonance to the music's typically thin texture.

Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach aimed to play and compose 'as songfully as possible for the clavier, notwithstanding its lack of sustaining power'.
