Richard Lester, the harpsichordist on this album, has been active in early keyboard music for fifty years, with his professional career beginning in 1966.
Recording & Production
This recording, released in 2017, is dedicated to the memory of George Malcolm (1917-1997), a friend and teacher, and Fernando Valenti (1926-1990), a Spanish/American harpsichordist.
Instruments
The main instrument on this recording is a double manual harpsichord built in 2011 by Colin Booth, based on a 1710 instrument by Hamburg builder Johann Christoph Fleischer.

The painting on the harpsichord's smaller lid, also by Colin Booth, features the Latin inscription "MVSICA SICUT AMOR DONVM DEI" (Music, like love is a gift from God).
