The manuscript for 'Für Elise' was found among the papers of Babette Bredl, who received it from Therese von Droßdik, née Malfatti, a pupil of Beethoven whom he loved and proposed to.
Composition History
The original manuscript for 'Für Elise' disappeared after Babette Bredl's death in 1880 and remains lost to this day.

Pianist Boris Giltburg, born in Moscow, won the First and Audience Prize at the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels in 2013.
