The Barjansky name is best known today for the Barjansky-Stradivarius, a cello played by Alexander Barjansky, Adolf Barjansky's son, on which he premiered Frederick Delius's Cello Concerto.

The Neue Musikzeitung, founded by Robert Schumann, praised Barjansky's Six Piano Pieces, Op. 10 in 1897 as "very good piano music, sometimes a bit oriental, but mostly original."
