Henri Sauguet, born Henri Poupard, adopted his stage name as a playful pun on 'sauge' (wisdom) and 'muguet' (lily of the valley).
Composition History
Many of Henri Sauguet's works for saxophone, including the Sonatine Bucolique, were written at the request of the famous saxophone virtuoso Jean-Marie Londeix.

Arno Bornkamp co-founded the Aurelia Saxophone Quartet, which made string quartet literature accessible to the saxophone quartet, often performing without sheet music.
