Lars Vogt and the Royal Northern Sinfonia build on their award-winning partnership with Brahms's First Piano Concerto, a mighty work which took the composer years to complete. Vogt again conducts the orchestra from the piano. As solo pianist, Vogt also plays Brahms's Four Ballades op. 10, written slightly earlier than the concerto.

Lars Vogt founded his own chamber music festival in Heimbach near Cologne in June 1998 and established a major educational program, 'Rhapsody in School,' in 2005.
