This album is Trio Sōra's second major recording project, following their critically acclaimed complete Beethoven piano trios album released in 2020.

Performer Biography

Trio Sōra, an all-female piano trio founded in 2015, is named after a Native American word meaning 'a bird that sings as it takes flight' and the Japanese word for 'sky'.

Interpretation

Trio Sōra aims to refresh the colors of great repertoire works by moving away from conventional interpretations and preconceptions, focusing on the meaning of phrasing, timbre, and articulation.

Composer Biography

Brahms's early career touring with Hungarian violinist Eduard Reményi left a significant mark on his music, influencing the gypsy elements found in many of his works.
