Performer Biography
Trio Sōra, an all-female piano trio founded in 2015, is named after a Native American word meaning 'a bird that sings as it takes flight' and the Japanese word for 'sky'.

Trio Sōra aims to refresh the colors of great repertoire works by moving away from conventional interpretations and preconceptions, focusing on the meaning of phrasing, timbre, and articulation.

Brahms's early career touring with Hungarian violinist Eduard Reményi left a significant mark on his music, influencing the gypsy elements found in many of his works.

Mathieu Herzog, a violist-turned-conductor, serves as the mentor and 'guardian angel' for Trio Sōra, guiding them musically and professionally.
