The Double Concerto was completed for performance in 1996 by Colin Matthews, a British composer, using Britten's detailed sketches, as Britten never made a full score himself.

Performer Biography
Baiba Skride, the violinist on this album, was born into a musical Latvian family in Riga and won first prize at the Queen Elisabeth Competition in 2001.
