J.S. Bach, a famous German composer, reportedly walked all the way from Arnstadt to Lübeck in 1705 to hear the 'old master' Buxtehude play.
Compositional Technique
Buxtehude's 'La Capricciosa', a theme and 32 variations, uses a children's song melody also employed by J.S. Bach in his Goldberg Variations.
Composition History
Buxtehude's harpsichord works, consisting of dance suites and variations, were discovered in the 1930s in Denmark, written in tablature in an old family register.

The original master tapes for these recordings were transferred using the best and most up-to-date analogue-to-digital sound equipment, with careful restoration and balance.
