Jean-Marc Luisada is known as an interpreter of Romantic piano music and has also promoted the piano music of Bizet and Fauré, with one of his recordings being voted Disc of the Year in 1997.

This album, recorded in July 2010, is Jean-Marc Luisada's first recording of all four of Chopin's ballades.
Composition History
The Ballade in G minor, Op. 23, the first instrumental composition in music history to bear this title, was conceived in 1831 and completed in 1835.
Performer Biography
Jean-Marc Luisada, the French pianist, was a prize-winner at the International Chopin Competition in Warsaw in 1985, a significant award early in his international career.
Compositional Technique
Chopin's F minor Ballade, Op. 52, is the most complex and abstract of his ballades, combining elements of sonata, variation, and rondo forms.
