Duccio Ceccanti, the violinist on this album, began studying violin with his father at age five and plays a violin made in 1667 by Nicola Amati.

Dallapiccola's Quaderno musicale di Annalibera, dedicated to his daughter, combines strict twelve-note serial thinking with a direct homage to Bach, even transcribing Bach's initials (B-A-C-H) at its opening.
