Composer Biography
Dinu Lipatti, the pianist on this album, died at the age of 33 in 1950, just a few years after these recordings were made.

Dinu Lipatti's Columbia recordings achieved legendary status and were critically acclaimed best-sellers even before his death.
Recording & Production
Dinu Lipatti's first recording session in July 1946 resulted in no usable discs because the masters warped en route to London.
