Performer Biography
Niek de Groot, a Dutch double bassist, started playing the instrument at 18 and became principal bass with several European ensembles, including a ten-year tenure with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.

Niek de Groot has dedicated himself to chamber music and solo performances since 2006, working closely with contemporary composers such as Kurtág, Stockhausen, and Saariaho.
