The establishment of an institute in Hellerau, near Dresden, in 1911, dedicated to teaching Jaques-Dalcroze's rhythm method, marked a turning point in his creative career, after which he focused less on large-scale concert works.

Pianist Adalberto Maria Riva has won several national and international prizes, including the Grand Prize of the IBLA International Competition in 2008, which led to a US tour and a concert at Carnegie Hall.
