The four organs in Freiburg Minster were built by different organ builders (Rieger, Marcussen, Späth, and Fischer + Krämer) between 1964 and 1966, with some parts renewed or rebuilt in 1990 and 2001.

Jürgen Geiger, the organist, is known for his hyper-virtuosic piano transcriptions of Russian piano legend Vladimir Horowitz's improvisations, which he meticulously reconstructed from historical recordings.

Enjott Schneider, the composer, studied in Freiburg in the 1970s under cathedral organist Professor Ludwig Doerr, and has strong emotional ties to the cathedral's atmosphere and acoustics.
